Especially in industrial facilities, conditioning large areas and cooling air at very high flow rates for various purposes can be most effectively and economically achieved using evaporative cooling systems.
Industrial facilities often experience significant capacity and efficiency losses in their process lines due to hot air. This is primarily caused by the increase in external temperatures, which leads to a decrease in air density and, consequently, a reduction in mass flow rate. In other words, the hot air allows less air to enter the process than is necessary. At this stage, a well-designed and appropriately configured evaporative cooling system can effectively provide the required cooling and increase mass flow rate.
In various sectors of industry, particularly in energy, petrochemicals, mining, metals, textiles, and food, the cooling of intake air for equipment such as air-cooled condensers (ACC), fin fan coolers, oil coolers, blowers, fan cells, and similar high air flow rate equipment constitutes the primary application areas for industrial evaporative cooling systems. Due to the significantly high air flow requirements, this cooling need can only be met economically with evaporative cooling systems.
Evaporative cooling systems inherently operate on an adiabatic cycle, allowing them to meet not only the necessary cooling and flow rate increase but also the need for humidification. Therefore, they are widely used as humidification cells in specially designed units for air conditioning systems.
